The summer of 2016 was an unusually busy one for members of Eugene Mountain Rescue. Here is a brief summary of some what we have been up to.
June 4th our team traveled to Mary's Peak for recertification day. The team was tested on a variety of rock rescue and search skills for our accredidation with the Mountain Rescue Association. We passed our testing with a solid team effort.
June 5th mission to Blue Pool to evacuate hiker with ankle injury.
June 26th was the start of multiple missions to aid in the search for missing hiker Sanford Rice near Marion Lake.
July 31st was start of multiple missions for missing hiker Riley Zikel near Jefferson Park. This was a very busy week for EMR with callouts for several missions.
August 1st mission to evacuate ill hiker near Gold Lake.
August 2nd mission to recover deceased subject near Upper Camp Creek.
August 17th and 18th search for overdue hiker near Deception Creek
August 23rd mission to recover deceased subject from French Pete Creek area.
September 14-15th mission to search for missing person near Separation Lake.
September 16th mission to recover deceased subject near Separation Lake.
